Here are listed all our editing guidelines so all visitors and users can have the best experience on our wiki, keeping the wiki clean and safe for everyone. The guidelines will be modified with time, so make sure to follow the page to be notified about the changes made.

Make sure to also read through the other policy pages as well:

  • Rules: The rules that all users are expected to follow on this wiki. Breaking one of these rules could lead to your account being banned, so make sure to read through them.
  • Staff Members: If you need any help or have any questions about these guidelines please feel free to contact a currently active staff member.

Overview

Please, avoid using Visual Editor! Use Source Editor instead for every edit you do, even if it is a small edit, as the Visual Editor breaks the page code and format every time. This also happens if the user switches from one mode to another in the middle of their edit, so try to always use Source Editor and not change to Visual Editor at any time.

To use the Source Editor, the user must go to the three dots shown in the upper right corner of any article and choose the first option that says "Edit source". You can also click the link we provide in the edit template found above several articles. This can also be changed permanently by going into the Special:Preferences, navigating to the "Editing" tab, scrolling down to the dropdown menu that says "Preferred editor:" and selecting "Source editor".

All Pages

  1. Archetype names should never be written in plural with an (s) at the end and should not be capitalized unless they are at the start of a sentence. So instead of saying "In media, Tsunderes are Deres that are sometimes hostile.", say "In media, tsundere characters are dere types that are sometimes hostile." in the pages.
    • The first time an archetype name is introduced it should be written in bold and italicized letters ("Tsundere" is a term for), but every time after that it should only be italized (tsundere is a term for).
  2. If you see something that can be considered a spoiler, you can blur a text, word, or name (or even only part of a name if the other part is a spoiler) using {{Spoiler|<Text with spoilers>}} and also add the {{Spoilers|<"Series Name">}} template above the article.
  3. At the beginning of any article that may contain any kind of offensive or inappropriate content, there will be a warning template that indicates the kind of content that can be found in said article. If there is not a template, you can add it yourself as {{Warning|<Type of warnings.>}} above the page, or you can also change the current one.
  4. Always try to write a summary of what kind of edit you do before saving, such as explaining that you are adding characters, images, or quotes. When making a minor edit like fixing a typo, formatting, or correcting titles or names, it's best if you specify it in the summary bar and click on "minor change". This is because it helps admins and other users see what is happening on pages with a quick glance when patrolling edits. This can also be used to mention when you are adding a spoiler for a particular series, so users who wish not to see it can avoid clicking on it.
    • If you do a lot of similar or minor edits, the summaries can be shortened or even skipped.
  5. On this wiki we use the international standard date format of YYYY/MM/DD for all dates. This is done to avoid any possible confusion as to whether the date is using the American or European dating format (it is also the format used in Japan).

Page Formats

All page articles have a shared format, which can be found in the "Preload Template" function by selecting one of the options from the drop-down menu. If you are creating a new page from scratch, it is best to use one of the preloaded page templates to avoid making any formatting mistakes and to make sure all pages follow the same order of content. You can always use an existing article as a guide to make your edits. The "Kuudere" article is a good example to follow.

Archetype Main Pages

Adding Archetypes

  1. New pages for official types must have at least a reliable Japanese source referencing it or proof of where the archetype name is mentioned in an official Japanese media showing it is an official archetype. If an archetype page is created with no proof that it exists or that it has correct information then it will be removed.
    • Official Japanese archetypes that are not dere-related must be created in the "Other" namespace by including "Other:" at the beginning of the page title and not in the mainspace (page titles with no prefix) which is reserved for only official Japanese dere types.
    • Dere types that originate outside of Japan may only be created in the "Western:" namespace if they meet some level of notability, such as being used in official Western media. If the dere was not used in any official non-Japanese work but is still very widespread in the online Western community then it might also be accepted into the Western namespace, but these are determined on a case-by-case basis.
    • If you want to add an archetype created by yourself, it must be done in the "Unofficial" namespace instead by including "Unofficial:" at the beginning of the page title and explicitly labeled as such by including the Template:Unofficial notice at the top of the page. Additionally, all new unofficial types must follow the unofficial types guidelines and get approval from an admin before being added.
    • Archetypes that originate from outside the wiki but are not official or in widespread usage still have to go under the "Unofficial:" namespace, they will just be added to the "Popular Unofficial Archetypes" category. This would include unofficial types that people make up on other wikis, blog sites, etc.
  2. To ensure accuracy, archetype descriptions should be written based on how they are used in official media or how the origin character behaves. Rather than trying to include traits from all characters with a similar personality as a type, the page should instead be written based on how characters who are officially labeled as that type behave. For example, if we look at the dere type biridere it was created as a tsundere variation and both official uses have been with the "dishonest about their feelings" tsundere traits in mind. So even though there's another character who also uses electricity to shock their love interest and is deredere but with a completely different format in the character of Lum because she was never officially claimed to be a biridere the page should not be written around how she behaves and instead only how the two official characters behave.
    • There is an exception to this rule for Western archetypes since they are generally not used in any media or based on any character. In these cases, if there is no specific character the type was created for it can instead be written based on popular characters who are considered to be that type. So for example, when looking at Western types: teasedere was created specifically for the character Holo so it should be written with her personality in mind but can also take inspiration from other popular teasing characters like Takagi, whereas dandere was created with nobody in mind so it can be written based on how any character who is extremely silent and shy behaves.

Formatting

More Information: A more detailed explanation can be found at Dere Types Wiki:Editing Guide/Main Page
  1. For personalities, we only have 8 types of categories to be used in official dere articles: Arrogant, Distant, Romantic, Kind, Melancholic, Shy, Teasing, and Violent. Categories should only be added if they apply to how a character treats their love interest in their non-dere side. For example, every dere type acts "kind" and "romantic" when being dere but adding this tag to every type would defeat the point. Therefore these categories should not be added unless they act this way even before becoming dere.
    • Avoid adding non-existing categories and ask permission if you think a new one is necessary. These new categories have to be suitable to be used in many dere types and not just one or two. If you want to add a personality to a single dere type, add it to their infobox instead.
  2. In the infobox, the main image should be of a character from a Japanese source, that is high quality and shows a good example of the archetype personality in action somehow.
    • Alternate spellings for Japanese names of archetypes should only be added to infoboxes if they are actually used in official media. Don't just add different ways it "could" be spelled (i.e, a kanji version, a katakana version, a hiragana version, a mixed hiragana/katakana version, etc.), only add them if that is how Japanese people actually refer to them as.
  3. All archetype articles have a link to their gallery and six examples of images below. This little gallery, used as a preview of the real gallery, should have only 6 images of anime/manga/visual novel characters that best represent the archetype. Not only because of the character added but also because the images or GIFs show the archetype in action (and in the case with dere types, the images should show the "dere side" in action somehow, such as a GIF that transitions between both sides of their personality or the character holding back their dere side). This also means that ideally, all 6 examples should be romantic, in the case of dere types.
    • Do not add or remove images from here unless you want to change one image with another in the real gallery that represents better the dere type. Use the real gallery to add new images you upload. If you see that a bigger change is necessary in the preview of the gallery, tell an administrator beforehand.
  4. At the beginning of the article, a single quote that represents correctly the archetype can be added. This quote shouldn't be too long and should be shortened in the main archetype article, but it can be added in full on the quotes page. The quote should come from an anime or another Japanese source, said by a character that represents well the archetype. Other quotes will be changed with time if they aren't like this.

Character Lists

Adding Characters

  1. Please, only add fictional characters to the lists. Popular fanworks and parody characters are allowed.
    • You are not allowed to add your OCs to example lists but feel free to share them on your user page, in the discussions, or your blog posts!
  2. Please, post new titles and characters in alphabetical order. In this wiki we use the "letter by letter" method, and as such, spaces and other icons and symbols are ignored during alphabetization.
    • Numbers go always first than letters during the alphabetical order, and every number is seen individually. If some media begins with "11a", another begins with "1a", and another begins with "101a", the order will be; 101a - 11a - 1a
  3. For Japanese media, we use the official Japanese stylized titles (how the title is styled on the Japanese manga/anime/game cover) as opposed to using Romanized names or English dub names. For example, we use My Hero Academia because that is how the title is styled on the Japanese manga cover instead of Boku no Hiiro Akademia. Series that do not have any special stylized titles should use the direct Romanized name, however.
    • Non-Japanese media should always use the official English title, even if the native language of the source is not English. If the series does not have an official English name then please do not make one up or try translating it, and instead just add the name in its native language.
  4. Try not to add more than 15 characters from the same media. If you see the list is too long, try to generalize it a bit. For example, adding "Several characters", "All idols", or the name of a group instead of listing all of the individual members.
  5. Please avoid adding series or characters with explicit language in their names unless necessary. Doing so just adds an unnecessary barrier of entry for those who want to add characters but may not want to see this kind of language.
    • A good rule of thumb is if the main page for an archetype already has a warning for strong language or suggestive themes, then it's probably fine to add it to that archetype's character list. For example, adding a series with a suggestive title to "erodere", where this kind of language is not only expected but is unavoidable, is fine, but adding something like that to "deredere" is not and will be removed. Try to keep the lists as user-friendly and open as possible.
  6. If a character has been officially labeled as an archetype by its series or creator, you can mark it as such by adding the character using the {{Official}} template and providing a source showing where the archetype was mentioned.
    • The source must originate from the official source material, it does not count if just other people who did not create the series call them this (for example, a CBR article "top 10 tsundere characters") but the original creators did not.
    • The source should be in the form of a URL linking to exactly where the term was used in connection to the character, whether it's in the series title, description, character about section, licensed merchandise, a quote from the author or actor, another character in the series referring to them as that type, etc. This can be a link to the official website, an online retailer, a credible news site, a streaming platform, a social media post by the creator, etc. If the term is only used inside the media itself, then you may upload an image showing a screenshot of it being used and link directly to that image file on our wiki. If you do this make sure you provide enough context so that people who are not familiar with the series can still tell who they're referring to (such as by stitching together several concurrent scenes: for example).
    • A non-direct source (such as a wiki or anime database site) may only be used if the source is the series or character name itself, since the source is merely a formality at that point (i.e, a series called "My Girlfriend Sara is a Tsundere" could simply just link to the "My Girlfriend Sara is a Tsundere Wiki" since the source is the series title itself and the link just proves the series is real). An official source is still preferred, but if none are available then a non-official source is acceptable. If a non-official source is used for any other reason, it will simply be removed to maintain reliability since anyone can simply edit these pages and say the creator called them that type regardless of whether they did or not.
    • Users should never remove official characters unless they were added mistakenly and are not official. It is fine to disagree with the subjective opinions of other users, but you cannot disagree with the creator of the character. If they say their character is a tsundere then they're a tsundere.
  7. If a character is an example of a romantic version of a particular dere, you can add a heart that mentions their love interest by adding {{Heart|<Love Interest>}} beside their name in the character list. This is used to distinguish characters that are romantic examples from those that are platonic ones.
    • Love interests should only be added if the characters acts this particular dere towards them. So for example, if a character acts "deredere" with their love interest, but "tsundere" only with their friend, then their love interest should only be added on the "deredere" page and not "tsundere".
    • This does not apply to any non-dere archetype unless otherwise specified at the top of the page.
    • Only add a love interest if the pairing is official (both end up together or have feelings for each other during the story), semi-official (only the dere character gains feelings for the love interest but these feelings aren't reciprocated during the story), revealed by one of the creators or at least highly implied in the source they come from. Don't add your headcanons and favorite ships if they're not canonical.
      • In the same sense, don't remove these hearts and love interests if they follow all the rules above just because you don't like an official pairing. We try to document objective information without being influenced by any controversies the media and pairing could bring. Think that this way, users can also know and choose if they want to consume the media these characters and canon pairings come from upon seeing our lists for a better experience. For example, after seeing our lists documenting a controversial but official pairing from an anime, users can then know, or this could help them decide if they really should or shouldn't watch that anime and if watching it could trigger them or make them feel uncomfortable.
      • Don't add a love interest if the love interest has feelings for the dere character but the dere character doesn't. Only add in the hearts to those characters the dere character has a crush on or falls in love with, not the other way around.
  8. Characters that are not romantic examples of a dere type may be added, but they must be marked as such by adding either (platonic) or (familial) in place of the heart. They also still must have the listed "dere" traits and still need to follow the same formula as romantic characters even if it's platonic love or familial love as opposed to romantic love. If a character is entirely loveless or only shows traits from the "non-dere" side then they should not be added.
    • To figure out a platonic meaning just replace "love interest" with "friend" or "family". For example, a platonic "tsundere" would be someone who acts standoffish to hide the fact that they want to be friends with someone (I-it's not like I want to be your friend, dummy), versus someone who goes off for any reason at all that is unrelated to hiding loving feelings, romantic or otherwise. A platonic "utsudere" would be someone who is normally sad, but becomes cheerful and affectionate around their friend, versus someone who is only ever sad with no "dere traits". A platonic "roshidere" would be someone who uses Russian to hide the fact that they're complimenting their friend, versus just anyone who speaks Russian, and so on. In all three examples the "deredere side" is still represented and the overall formula is the exact same, just in a slightly different way.
  9. The following categories must be added only to the "Characters from Other Sources" section instead of the "Anime/Manga", "Cartoon/Comics", or "Live-Action/Novels" sections.
    • Web Media: This includes things such as webcomics (for example Webtoons, self-published doujins, etc), web series (such as series posted to YouTube or other social media), and other web media. However, this does not include streaming media that are serialized by professional companies, such as Japanese web manga released on digital manga apps (such as web-exclusive Shounen Jump series) or streaming television (such as Netflix or Hulu).
    • Derivative Works: This includes works that are based on pre-existing media, such as fangames, parodies series, and other fanworks.

Editing Etiquette

  1. Before adding a character, make sure that the character is not added already to the Japanese or non-Japanese list. If you want to find a character, media, or certain word(s) on a page, use Ctrl+F on the keyboard to search for it.
  2. If a user is going to remove a character, they should write a reasonable motive for such action in the summary first. If a character is removed without a clear reason the edit will likely be reverted for safety and to avoid edit wars between users that added said character.
    • Sometimes there can be conflicts when adding or removing characters as each person has a different idea on topics like these. Keep in mind that the lists are subjective and that there will always be characters that represent one archetype better than other characters listed. Don't feel bad if someone removes your character or re-adds one you deleted. If you think a character should or shouldn't be on a list, talk it over calmly with the other user to come to an agreement.

Formatting

All characters and media added should follow the format listed below. If a new entry doesn't follow the correct format it might be removed even if the characters fit the archetype. Please note that there is room for error for new users and mods will help you fix any formatting mistakes, but if you keep making the same mistakes over and over even after getting help then your edits will likely just get reverted.

When adding a single character use
*'''''Media Name -''''' Character Name
When adding multiple characters use
*'''''Media Name -'''''
**Character Name A
**Character Name B
**Character Name C
To add special notes about the character use
*'''''Media Name -'''''
**Character Name A {{Heart|Love Interest}}
**Character Name B (formerly)
**Character Name C (platonic; formerly)
**Character Name D / Character Name D Alias
**Character Name E (''Good Ending'')
  • This includes things such as if they have a love interest or are a platonic example, if they're formerly that type, if they have alternate an name, if they only are this archetype in a specific route or ending, etc. If a character has multiple notes, they can be separated with a semi-colon.
To add a link to the character's wiki page use
*'''''Media Name -''''' [https://futurediary.fandom.com/wiki/Yuno_Gasai Yuno Gasai]
  • Adding links for characters is required so users are able to easily find additional information about the character. If a character is added without a link then the edit will be reverted. The reason for this is because the lists are designed to help users learn more about a particular archetype, so including a link can let users see more about how that character behaves.
  • These links should lead to either the most correct and informative wiki about that media (even if not Fandom related), or to another database entry for that character (such as MyAnimeList or Visual Novel Database). You should only resort to official websites or multimedia wiki (like the Villains Wiki) if a wiki about the source and/or article about the character doesn't exist yet anywhere.
  • Only add links for the characters, not for the media!
  • Don't change the links to [[w:c:futurediary:Yuno Gasai|Yuno Gasai]]. The reason we write them like the above format instead is because the way we add the links will lead the visitor to another browser tab when clicking on them, while this one will change the current tab the user is browsing forcing them to return back to our wiki. In a character list, we must keep in mind that the visitor would want to see different articles about characters at the same time without leaving the current character list they are in.
To add a song use
*'''''Songs -'''''
**'''''Song Name A (Artist Name 1) -''''' [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist]
**'''''Song Name B (Artist Name 2) -''''' [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist]
  • Songs should be added together in one section titled "Songs" and all songs should be listed in alphabetical order with the name of the artist added next to the title inside parenthesis like such Song Name (Artist Name) -. For the character entry, if the character does not have a given name then you can simply put "Protagonist" instead, or something like "The Blonde Girl".
  • If there is a wiki page for the song (such as the VOCALOID wiki which has pages for all VOCALOID songs with lyrics, information, artwork, links to official videos, etc) then that should be added, but if not then add a direct link to the official music video can be added instead. Please do not add links to unofficial reuploads of music videos, only the official source.
To add multiple characters from a song use
*'''''Songs -'''''
**'''''Song Name A (Artist Name 1) -'''''
***[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist A]
***[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist B]
**'''''Song Name B (Artist Name 2) -'''''
***[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist A]
***[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX Protagonist B]
  • Note: The format is the same as adding a regular character, but with an extra bullet point to have them all grouped under a single songs section.

Images

Uploading Images

  1. All new images or GIFs should be official works or screenshots taken from the original media they come from, so fan arts are not allowed.
    • However, there is an exception for media that are based mostly on fan works, such as "creepypasta". In this case, you must always title the file with the name of the character portrayed and the fanart author (Character_by_FanartArtist.png), use the template {{CC-BY-SA}}, and always add in the description the artist of said fan art with a link to the artist's page or to the original image. If the fanart artist is not mentioned or linked, the image will be deleted from the wiki.
      • If any author requests for the removal of their art in the wiki, all files with their work will be deleted and removed from the articles immediately.
  2. Images should be named properly. At the very least, it is required that they contain the name of the character that is featured for ease of reference. Ideally, they would also include the series name as well in the format "Character from Series.png". The reason for this is so that it is easier for users to find images of a particular character when trying to add them to a gallery, or even to avoid duplicate images (i.e, if a user searches for "Nagatoro" to see if they should upload one, they aren't going to find them if the image is named "1918qhau18172.png").
    • If multiple images of the same character are added they can be differentiated with numbers such as "Character from Series 2.png", "Character from Series 3.png", or even by adding which type is shown in the image such as "Character from Series tsundere.png", "Character from Series teredere.png" and so on.
    • Names that are too long, contain random gibberish, or that are derogatory will be changed or even deleted.
  3. Make sure to select the {{Fairuse}} template for every image you upload and if you can a description saying from where they are taken from.
    • Videos don't need a fair use template, as all videos are embedded, not hosted, so copyright compliance by the person who uploaded the video to YouTube is assumed. In other words, all visits to the videos here will count as visits to the original video.
  4. After uploading a file, make sure you add it somewhere. Files that have been uploaded and are not used anywhere after 3 hours will be deleted if the user who has uploaded them doesn't show any more signs of activity in the wiki.

Image Quality

  1. Please make the effort to ensure that all of the images you upload have the best quality possible or they will be replaced or even removed from the pages. We usually prefer images with more than 300x300 pixels and/or +40 KB, but this can vary with every file depending on the type. Try to always upload original artwork or make/find screenshots at the highest resolution if you can. When saving files, always enter and zoom the image before saving them. If the image is blurry, has poor lighting, is badly cropped, or has any other noticeable quality problems it will be deleted.
    • Images added to the wiki should not have watermarks. The only exception is if the watermark is from the original creator/producer of that media (i.e, a Fuji TV logo), though it's still preferable to not have them if possible. What should never be added is a personalized watermark created by the user, the person who posted it on social media, or even a customized watermark of the wiki. These screenshots and GIFs are taken from copyrighted material and don't belong to the wiki or any other user.
    • This is not required, but you should try to upload images only in a more common file format (PNG, JPG, GIF) to make it easier on other users if they need to upload a new version of an image (such as for cropping, higher quality, or to better show the archetype). When a file is uploaded in an uncommon format like WEBP this generally means that the image file would need to be completely deleted from the wiki and a new file with better quality uploaded in its place since new versions must have the same file extension and many image editing programs don't support saving in these less common formats, which is a lot more effort than should be necessary.
  2. Images should be properly cropped to make their preview images nicer in the image galleries. Images that have a lot of excess blank space just detract from the image and make the actual character appear smaller and less visible. For example:
Tip
  • If you need an image editing program, you can download Paint.net on desktop for free, or IbisPaintX on mobile for free. Both are simple to use, completely safe, and very good editors.
  • You can also try reverse image searching an image on Google to find the highest quality image that is available.

Galleries

Adding Images

  1. All files to archetype galleries added must show and represent the archetype clearly inside them, so try not to add random images of characters, even if the character is that archetype if that side of them is not shown in the images too! The galleries should help people understand the archetypes better thanks to the images and GIFs shown in them.
    • Likewise, just because an image of a particular character exists does not mean that image needs to be added to every archetype gallery that the character falls under. Additionally, even if an image could technically work for a second archetype gallery than the one it was initially used for, consider if there is another image that could work better for that gallery instead (i.e, while an image of a Bishounen character acting angry technically shows an example of a "Bishounen character", it's not a "good" example of one compared to one where that character is showing off their beauty.)
  2. The "deredere side" (lovestruck, fawning, cute, doting, overly affectionate) of characters should only be added to the "dere" tab in the gallery so both sides of the character are clearly defined and separated. Deredere images should not be added for any character unless they also have images of their non-dere side as well, since the comparison is what makes the deredere images relevant. This also applies to any other galleries with multiple tabs (such as deretsun where the "dere side" comes first), images should not be added to the second tab without adding a character to the first time since these are to show development over time.
    • Additionally, try to make sure the image of the "deredere side" somehow relates to the type it is being added to. Don't just add random pictures of the character smiling or being happy as this is not what deredere means, they need to be acting deredere in a way that fits with the type. For example, a himedere still acts ladylike even when dropping their selfishness and being deredere so a picture of them having fun playing sports would not fit, whereas a picture of them cutely dancing with their love interest in a dress or acting cute and lovestruck would.
    • Platonic "deredere" images are fine to add to the gallery, but they should not detract from the true romantic deredere images so they must be able to pass as such (i.e, if someone didn't know the character the image could pass as that character being lovestruck). So simply adding images of a character smiling or being happy does not count as "deredere", but a character being overly affectionate and cuddling with their friends or blushing from how much they love their friend would count as such as may be added. Images added to the dere side that don't meet these conditions will be removed.
  3. Make sure that the image you are adding is of a character already listed in one of the lists. If the character is not there and you think they should be included because they match the dere type, remember to add the character to the character list before or after you add an image of them.
  4. If a single image shows more than one character, you must add the names of all characters in the description. If both or all characters are that dere type, you must add "Character1 (left) and Character2 (right) from Source", but if only one is that dere type, you must then mention the dere character first and add "with" instead of "and": Character2 (right) with Character1 (left) from Source

Formatting

To add an image use
ImageName.png|Character from ''Media''
  • It is not necessary to add links, alternate names, etc. to the gallery pages, only the main character lists.
  • Note: It is not necessary to add the "File:" prefix in front of the image name, but it is fine if you do since our bot will go through and remove those anyway.

Quote Pages

Adding Quotes

  1. Only add official quotes said by characters. Made-up quotes are not allowed in articles.
    • Do not censor words if they are not censored in the original work. At the beginning of any articles that contain strong language or sensitive topics will be a warning template that indicates the kind of content that can be found in said article. If there is no warning template, you can add it yourself by using {{Warning|<Type of warnings.>}} at the top of the page. However, these quotes are still subject to the content guidelines of this wiki so please do not add disturbing/graphic quotes or quotes containing slurs as we do not want to have to moderate those. Any quotes that violate these guidelines will be immediately removed and a warning will be given to the user who added them.
    • Typos that are intentional in the original source should not be rectified, but the unintentional ones can be rectified even if it's written like that in the original source.
  2. Quotes should only be added if they are related to the archetype that it is being added to as these should serve as examples for how a character who is that type acts. Don't add random quotes said by the character even if they are that type.
    • Try to add a quote that only represents the archetype. If the sentence gets too long and parts in between are not related to that archetype, remove these parts and add <br>(...)<br> in each removed part.
  3. Every quote table on the page is for an entire franchise. Do not create individual tables for different series of the same franchise, and instead add them in the same table and separate them inside by series with a double linebreak (i.e., all games in the Mario franchise should be grouped in a single table labeled "Mario", as opposed to making one for "Super Mario Bros." and another for "Luigi's Mansion", etc.).
    • There should also be a single table for "Songs" and another single table for "VOCALOID" songs in the "Other Sources" section, and every quote inside should be separated by artists.
  4. Always add "(spoilers)" in the table next to the franchise name if any of the quotes inside that table have spoilers of any kind.
  5. If more than one character are talking, you must add the name of all characters in the description. If both are that archetype, you must add "Character1 and Character2, from Source", but if only one is that dere type, you must then mention the archetype character first and add "with" instead of "and": "Character1 with Character2, from Source"
    • A quote about an archetype but said by another character can also be added, but you must add who are they talking about: Character, talking about Archetype Character, from Source.
    • A dialogue between characters can also be added, but only if necessary by context. If you can, only add a quote said by a single character. If you only add the parts of a character and delete the parts of other in between, you don't need to add <br>(...)<br> separations in those deleted parts said by other characters, but you must add <br> instead. The <br>(...)<br> should only be added if you skip a part said by that same character.
    • With game quotes, the conditions in which that quote appears in the game should be mentioned if they don't always appear by normal gameplay, for example, by doing certain actions, in a specific route or ending: Character, after the player chooses to go left in the "Route Name" of Source Name

Formatting

Note: Please only use source mode when adding quotes. When doing so you can also simply select "Quote Container" from the preload template dropdown menu to automatically insert the following code: Basic table:
This is the code that should be used to add a table and quotes in it in source editor. The only parts that should be edited by the user are the "Series Name", "add quote here", and "Character" parts.

{{Quote Container
|Series= Series Name
|{{Quote|Add quote here.|'''Character''', from ''Series Name''}}
}}
  • You can also add additional context regarding the quote by including a note after the character name: '''Character''' when their love interest called them cute, from ''Series Name''

Table with multiple quotes and characters:
Multiple quotes from the same character should be separated by a single linebreak. If there are quotes from multiple characters in the same franchise then each character should be separated by 2 linebreaks.

{{Quote Container
|Series= Series Name
|{{Quote|Add quote1 here.|'''Character1''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote2 here.|'''Character1''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote3 here.|'''Character2''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote4 here.|'''Character2''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote5 here.|'''Character3''', from ''Series Name''}}
}}

Quote with dialogue between characters:
Dialogue between multiple characters should mention both character's names where the quote normally goes.

{{Quote|'''Character1''': "Add dialogue1 here."<br>'''Character2''': "Add dialogue2 here."<br>'''Character1''': "Add dialogue3 here."|'''Character1''' and/with '''Character2''', from ''Series Name''}}
