This article details our policy on adding quotes. If you are going to add a new quote to the archetypes quotes, then make sure to follow the guidelines listed below. The guidelines may be modified with time, so make sure to follow the page to be notified about any changes made.

Before adding a quote: Make sure that the character you want to add a quote of is already on the character list. If they are not already on it then make sure to add them to it first. The basic format for adding a quote is listed below, but for more specific can be found at the bottom of the page. Additional context may also be added after the character name, such as who the character is talking is talking to, what they're doing, or what route/ending the quote happens in.
{{Quote||'''Character''', from ''Series''}}

Allowed Quotes Policy

  • Only official quotes said by characters are allowed. You may also include quotes about characters, such as quotes said by other characters or in the official character profile.
  • Made-up quotes are not allowed in articles.
    • Typos that are intentional in the original source should not be changed, but unintentional typos can be rectified even if it's written like that in the original source.
  • Quotes should only be added if they are related to the archetype that it is being added to as these should serve as examples for how a character who is that type acts. Don't add random quotes said by the character even if they are that type.
  • Try to add a quote that only represents the archetype. If the sentence gets too long and parts in between are not related to that archetype, remove these parts and add <br>(...)<br> in each removed part.
    • A quote about an archetype but said by another character can also be added, but you must add who are they talking about: Character, talking about Archetype Character, from Source.
    • A dialogue between characters can also be added, but only if necessary by context. If you can, only add a quote said by a single character. If you only add the parts of a character and delete the parts of other in between, you don't need to add <br>(...)<br> separations in those deleted parts said by other characters, but you must add <br> instead. The <br>(...)<br> should only be added if you skip a part said by that same character.

Explicit Quotes Policy

At the beginning of any articles that contain strong language or sensitive topics will be a warning template that indicates the kind of content that can be found in said article. If there is no warning template, you can add it yourself by using {{Warning|<Type of warnings.>}} at the top of the page. However, please avoid adding quotes with explicit language, violence, sexual themes, or other sensitive topics in them unless necessary. Doing so just adds an unnecessary barrier of entry for those who want to add quotes but may not want to see this kind of language.

A good rule of thumb is if the main page for an archetype already has a {{warning}} for strong language or suggestive themes, then it's probably fine to add it to that archetype's character list. For example, adding a quote with suggestive language to "erodere", where this kind of language is not only expected but is unavoidable, is fine, but adding something like that to "deredere" is not and the quote will simply be removed. Try to keep the lists as user-friendly and open as possible, it's not worth having to add a warning to a harmless archetype over one quote!

Censorship Policy

  • Quotes should not be censored if they are not censored in the original work. However, these quotes are still subject to the Content Guidelines of this wiki as well as Fandom's Offensive Terms Policy so do not add any disturbing content, graphic depictions of sexual/violent content, or content containing slurs as we do not want to have to moderate those. Any quotes that violate these guidelines will be immediately removed and a warning will be given to the user who added them, with a potential ban depending on the severity.
    • If you want to add a quote that has violative content then you can remove the violative sentence and replace it with <br>(...)<br> in each removed part.

Quotes Page Policy

On the quotes page, all quotes are grouped together into larger {{Quote Container}} templates.

  • Each quote container is for the entire franchise. Do not create individual quote containers for different series in the same franchise and instead add them in the same container and separate them inside by series with a double linebreak (i.e., all games in the Mario franchise should be grouped in a single container labeled "Mario", as opposed to making one for "Super Mario Bros." and another for "Luigi's Mansion", etc.).
    • There should also be a single container for all "Songs" and another single container for "VOCALOID" songs with every quote inside be separated by artists.
  • Always add "(spoilers)" in the header next to the franchise name if any of the quotes inside that container have spoilers of any kind.

Format Guidelines

All quotes added must follow the format listed below. If a new entry doesn't follow the correct format it might be removed even if the quotes fit the archetype. However, please note that there is room for error for new users and mods will help you fix any formatting mistakes at first, but don't try to take advantage of our good will. Don't put the work on us to have to fix every quote you add! If you keep making the same mistakes over and over even after getting help then your edits will likely just get reverted.

Note: When editing in source mode you can simply click any of the following Preload Templates: to automatically paste the exact source code into the editor!

To add a basic quote container use

{{Quote Container

}}

Multiple Quotes

If there are multiple quotes from the same character they should be added to the same quote container and be separated by a single linebreak. If there are quotes from multiple characters in the same franchise then each character should be separated by 2 linebreaks.

To add multiple quotes inside the container use

{{Quote Container
|Series= Series Name
|{{Quote|Add quote1 here.|'''Character1''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote2 here.|'''Character1''', from ''Series Name''}}

{{Quote|Add quote3 here.|'''Character2''', from ''Series Name''}}

Multiple Dialogue

Dialogue between multiple characters should mention both character's names where the quote normally goes. If both characters are the archetype you must add "Character1 and Character2", but if only one is that archetype you must mention the archetype character first and add "with" instead of "and".

To add a quote with multiple dialogue lines use

{{Quote|'''Character1''': "Add dialogue1 here."<br>'''Character2''': "Add dialogue2 here."<br>'''Character1''': "Add dialogue3 here."|'''Character1''' and/with '''Character2''', from ''Series Name''}}

Quotation HeartsCharacter1: "Add dialogue1 here."
Character2: "Add dialogue2 here."
Character1: "Add dialogue3 here."
