"Gurodere" (JP) is a term for a deredere character who enjoys being all lovey-dovey and romantic with their love interest but also has an ultra-masochistic personality that enjoys being punished by them in erotic and grotesque ways. Most of the time they act just like any regular deredere character. They're deeply in love with their love interest and have a very sweet, cute, affectionate, endearing, lovey-dovey, and heartwarming romantic love for them. However, at the same time they are ultra-masochistic and become sexually excited by being covered in their own blood. They will ask their love interest to punish them in extremely gory and grotesque ways, so they are bleeding most of the time when doing erotic acts with their love interest. Because of the nature of this archetype it only works if the character is immortal, such as being a vampire, in order to survive these extreme situations. It's a bizarre mix of a cute and heartwarming lovey-dovey, erotic, and grotesque love.
This is not to be confused with:
- Unofficial:Masogire - A character who has a loveless or violently masochistic personality and enjoys being harmed. Characters who do not have a deredere personality should only be added here.
