Dojikko
"Dojikko" is a term for a character who is very clumsy.
Meaning of the Name
Dojikko (ドジっ娘) comes from the words "doji" (ドジ), meaning "clumsy", and "ko" (っ娘), meaning "girl". It can also be written as (ドジっ子), with (っ子) being a gender neutral term for “youth” while being pronounced in the way as (っ娘).
Personality
Dojikko characters are characters who are incredibly clumsy, often failing to do everyday tasks because of their clumsiness, from carrying fragile items to simply walking. Dojikko characters are usually depicted as being sweet and innocent. Despite their klutziness, and often incompetence, Dojikko characters regret their failures and apologize when they mess up.

Personality

Chuunibyou
"Chuunibyou" is a term for a character who has delusions of grandeur.
Meaning of the Name
Chuunibyou (中二病) means “second year syndrome”, which is the typical time when these delusions manifest. It often changed to “eighth grade syndrome” in English translations.
Personality
Chuunibyou characters are characters who want to stand out so badly that they develop delusions.
Hyouya Saegami wrote a book titled Chuunibyou User Manual (中二病取扱説明書), which categorized Chuunibyou characters into three different groups.
DQN
DQN types of Chuunibyou characters pretend that they are delinquents. They will make up stories about being in a gang, beating people up, or drinking and smoking, even though they are clearly too cowardly to partake in those sorts of activities.
Subcultural
Subcultural types of Chuunibyou reject mainstream cultures. They think that liking obscure things makes them cooler than everyone else, even though they often don’t even research the culture that they claim to be a part of and make a fool of themselves.
Evil Eye
Evil Eye types of Chuunibyou, the most popular type in Japanese media, are characters who believe that they have supernatural abilities of some sort. They make exaggerated poses and long speeches about their so-called abilities in order to look cooler, but they just end up looking lame. These Chuunibyou characters often believe that they are the protagonist of a story, their delusions often being inspired by their favorite piece of media. Another common belief among Chuunibyou characters is that they are the reincarnation of a deity or hero from long ago, since it explains why they can’t actually use their powers.
Characters who have moved on from acting Chuunibyou openly cringe at their past self, embarrassed by their previous delusions.
Chuunibyou can also be considered a variation of "Onidere".

"Sukeban" is a term for a female character who is a delinquent. The male equivalent is called Banchou.
Meaning of the Name
Sukeban (スケバン) means "delinquent girl" or "boss girl".
Personality
Sukeban characters act like or are delinquents, some even being the boss in a gang. They will act tough, use swear words, and hold weapons to give others a "bad girl" impression. Many Sukeban characters will modify their body to look more "cool" and "dangerous", such as dyeing their hair bright colors or shaving it off, getting piercings, or getting tattoos. They will modify their clothes as well, such as ripping holes in them for the aesthetic. This extends to their school uniforms as well, many Sukeban characters doing things like lengthening their skirts, wearing tennis shoes, and wearing colorful socks. They are also known to wear surgical masks.
Sukeban characters will not be afraid to do illegal things. They may engage in activities such as stimulant use, shoplifting, theft, prostitution, and violence. Unsurprisingly, these characters have a very bad reputation at school, as they will threaten and bully other students if they get too close to them.
Sukeban characters follow strict rules in their gangs, being punished physically if they disobeyed.

Kuugire (クーギレ) comes from the words "kuuru" (クール), which is the katakanization of the English word "cool", and "gire" (ギレ), meaning "to snap".
Personality
Kuugire characters are characters who, as the story progresses, reveal a more brutal and violent side of themselves instead of a loving and caring side. Such characters may show a dere side, but it is not the part of them that is mainly expressed in the story.
Kuugire characters have sadistic personality traits and a passion for destruction, treating others with contempt and without any sympathy. However, they will act aloof, cold, and calculating, not showing their emotions and their attitude about what is happening around them.
Unlike a yandere, a kuugire does not have any signs of mental disorders or mood swings. Kuugire characters are almost always antagonists.
Characters who kill against their will and feel compassion for their victims are not a kuugire, since they feel remorse for their actions.

Personality
Otaku characters are characters who love anime, video games, and other parts of Japanese culture to the point of obsession. They may collect merchandise from their favorite shows, engage in cosplay, and go to cons.

Personality
Yamato Nadeshiko characters are characters who embody the virtues of an ideal Japanese woman. The concept revolves around the idea of a girl who is loyal to her family and obedient towards authority figures. They are good at cooking, cleaning, and raising children. Modern Yamato Nadeshiko may study things that were important in Japanese history, such as archery or tea ceremonies.
Yamato Nadeshiko do have a bit of an edge to them, though, being depicted as very wise and mature. Older Yamato Nadeshiko characters are sometimes depicted as knowing self defense tactics as well, in order to further protect their families.

Meaning of the Name
"Menhera" is the word that is used in Japan referring to people with mental problems and illnesses. Sometimes, the word is used in a derogatory context. Although lately it has become a fashion to try to normalize mental illnesses, since people who suffer from them are often highly discriminated in Japan.
In fact Menhera (メンヘラ) is an abbreviated word for "Mental healther" and originated on the 2channel board for mental health, "menheru".
Sometimes, utsudere and yandere characters are called Menhera instead by those who aren't familiar with dere types, since they all come from the idea of mental illness.
History
Menhera is an extreme and visual representation of mental illness, while at the same time showing depression in a more cute way aesthetically. It is usually used as a form of expression by people who suffer from mental problems themselves, have dealt with such people in the past, or know someone close who has suffered from mental problems.
The Menhera style is based on a "kawaii" appearance but with "illness" themes. This can be represented by pills, syringes, crosses, bandages, and even wrist cuts, but mostly characters dressing in pastel colored clothing with symbolisms that have to do with a mental illness or addictions. They also tend to have a gothic touch in style, combining it with dark accessories.

"Yangire" is a term for a character who seems innocent and caring at first, but shows their true violent and loveless nature when they snap.
Meaning of the Name
Yangire (ヤンギレ) comes from the words "yanderu" (病んでる), meaning "to be mentally sick", and "gire" (ギレ), meaning "to snap". It can also be written as 病んぎれ, which means "illness".
Personality
Yangire is a very similar term to yandere; they both suffer from a mental disorder and can easily become violent and extremely dangerous. However, yangire characters are far more chaotic and cruel than yandere. Unlike a yandere, they are not motivated by their love for another. A yandere acts only with the love of another person in mind, while a yangire is free spirited and commits atrocities at their own will.
Yangire characters have usually gone through some amount of trauma in the past that caused their violent tendencies to surface. Because of their trauma, they have no faith left in the world, so they feel no remorse for killing and don't care about getting killed themselves.
A yangire character doesn't usually have a love interest. A yandere has a love interest and kills in the name of love, but a yangire is a strong, independent character who needs no love interest in order to trigger their dangerous side.
A yangire is often considered a mastermind or evil genius, since they typically manipulate others to get what they want.

Yangire with One Personality (Y1P)
Yangire characters with only one personality are characters whith no signs of mental illness, being fully in control of their mind. They know exactly what they're doing and why it's so wrong, they just don't care. Due to this fact, they have few redemptive qualities, since they already kill and torture people of own will, some of them even putting the pleasure of killing before their own lives.
Yangire with Two or more Personalities (Y2P)
Yangire characters with two or more personalities are characters who clearly show signs of mental illness. These characters can literally have a split personality, but can also feel compelled to do violent things because of other mental problems. Their violent side appears when something or someone makes them angry, afraid, or stressed out, making them feel like they have to do bad things in order to feel better, or making their murderous personality appear to solve their problem for them, whether they want them to or not.

Personality
Yandere characters act violent towards people who are close to their love interest, while yangire acts violent from the start and kills for any non-love related reason. Yandegire characters are characters who suffer from both of these types of "yan". They do not just kill out of jealousy for their love interest, but also out of pleasure, vengence, compulsion, or any other non-love related reason.
