"Sunao Cool" (JP) is a term for a character who expresses their deredere honestly and straightforwardly from the very beginning, but is always cool in their behavior because of their calm and expressionless personality. At first glance you can't tell how they feel because they don't show much emotion, but their expression of love is very straightforward and they always expresses their feelings of love towards their love interest in a cool and dignified manner. They don't care about what other people think and are never embarrassed about being affectionate in public, with even embarrassing romantic things being said with a straight face. They are someone who loves their lover wholeheartedly and are always honest with their feelings towards them, and are always cool in their behavior. Cool and deredere live together without contradiction and there are no two sides to it.
This is not to be confused with:
- Dandere - A character who is silent and expressionless most of the time, but will suddenly become cute, talkative, and deredere when they are alone with their love interest.
- Kuudere - A character who initially acts cold, expressionless, and indifferent to hide their loving feelings, but becomes cute, lovey-dovey, and deredere around their love interest after getting closer to them. Dishonest cool characters who later turn cute and lovey-dovey should only be added here.
- Unofficial:Kuugire - A character who remains cold and expressionless when they are angered. Cool characters without cute and lovey-dovey personalities should only be added here.
Note: Please keep in mind that this is still a romantic archetype, so characters who do not act all lovey-dovey in a cool and unembarrassed manner should not be added here even if they're always cool.
