"Bosudere" is a term for a character who usually acts bossy towards their love interest, but is also loving and deredere towards them. They will change their bossy attitude after seeing that they are acting too strict and demanding towards their love interest.

Etymology

Meaning of the Term

Bosudere (ボスデレ) is a combination of "bosu" (ボス), meaning "boss", and "deredere" (デレデレ), a mimetic word for "being lovestruck".

Personality

Bosu Period

A bosudere is a character who acts in an authoritative way and spends the day giving orders to their love interest. Some may be the head of a company or the leader of a group, while others are just really bossy to those close to them.

A bosudere can be seen as a boring and rigid boss or leader who is often tough and stern with others and even their love interest. They care about success and organization in their group.

Dere Period

Despite being rigid, they still care about their love interest, which can be seen or noticed at times.

They may act like a tsundere character or other arrogant dere types who won't admit their real concern for others and can appear to only care about themselves at first. They will change their attitude for their love interest after seeing that they are acting too strict and demanding around them.

Differences From Other Archetypes

Bosudere are similar to kamidere (Western) who want to be treated as a god by their interest. While both can be very bossy, the difference is that kamidere also look down on others as lesser beings, while bosudere simply care about things being done correctly. Though some characters may have traits of both.
