"Dereutsu" is a term for a character who acts very loving and deredere around their love interest, but is hiding the fact that they are actually very sad and depressed underneath their cheerful facade. They fake a loving smiling so their love interest won't worry about them, but this almost always ends in them breaking down after no longer being able to hold it in or after gaining enough trust in their love interest to confide in them about their sadness.
