"Houkagire" (JP) is a term for a hot-headed character who uses fire to harm others when they become angry.
Etymology
Meaning of the Term
Houkagire (放火ギレ) comes from the word "houka" (放火) which means "arson", and "kireru" (キレる), meaning "to get angry or lose one's temper".
Origin
The type was created on the Dere Types Wiki in 2024 to describe the character Natsu Dragneel from the action manga series FAIRY TAIL. Natsu is a fire dragon slayer so he possesses immense fire magic and also has the ability to eat any fire attacks directed towards him which he can then use as his own power. He is kind-hearted and carefree boy, but he also has a tendency to be rather hot-heated and easily angered. This is especially true when someone messes with his friends and he will burn everything in his path down just to save them if he's pushed to it.

Houkagire characters have supernatural fire powers that they can use to harm others who make them angry. The exact nature of the abilities differ depending on the character, but they usually possess a type of fire magic and can generate flames from within their body.
It is also common for characters to be part dragon or to otherwise have abilities of dragons, such as those taught how to control fire from dragons.

Houkagire characters have a fiery personality and tendency to be rather hot-headed. They are often easily provoked and will not hesitate to use their fire towards anyone who angers them.
If they are pushed far enough into their anger they can even get to the point where they will burn everything down just to get to person who wronged them. At this point they often have an intense desire to watch the world burn and will set buildings on fire solely for the sake of burning down the place belonging to the person who angered them.
Differences From Other Archetypes
This type is very similar to unofficial:birigire since both types deal with using a type of plasma when angered, but the difference is birigire characters use lightning while houkagire characters use fire. However, due to the similarity in ability type there are many characters who can use both abilities and would fall under both archetypes.
