"Kimuzukashii" is a term for a character who is exceptionally grumpy and difficult to talk to. They are difficult to please and hard to get along with because of their moody or unpredictable temperament. They can't seem to control their temper and will lash out for any sort of reason.

Etymology

Meaning of the Term

Kimuzukashii (気難しい) is a word that means "grumpy, hard to please, crusty, moody". It describes a person who is difficult to please or hard to get along with because of their moody or unpredictable temperament.

Personality

Kimuzukashii are characters who are exceptionally grumpy and difficult to talk to. They can't seem to control their temper and will lash out for any sort of reason. They are very rude and will call others names or refuse to hear what they have to say.

Differences From Other Archetypes

They behave similarly to a normal tsundere except they do not possess a "deredere" side, and a tsundere only acts this way towards a specific person because they can't be honest with their feelings to the about person they like so they lash out from embarrassment, but will laugh and be cheerful with their friends. This is in a sharp contrast to a kimuzukashii character who acts like this towards everyone. While a tsundere will act cold to their love interest they will also act very cute and lovey-dovey towards them as well, while a kimuzukashii is forever just "tsun", so-to-speak, with no hints of love being hidden behind their cold exterior.

The difference between this type and a tsungire is that they are not necessarily as aggressive or violent, and they don't only push people away for trying to get close and be affectionate with them as it can be literally any reason.
