Don't worry. It won't hurt too bad. Really. Death is my specialty. |
"Sadogire" is a term for a character who becomes extremely sadistic when they are angry. They gain tremendous pleasure in the suffering of others and enjoy harming, torturing, or killing other people.
Etymology
Meaning of the Term
Sadogire (サドギレ) is a combination of "sado" (サド), meaning "sadist" or "a person who derives pleasure from inflicting harm on others", and "kireru" (キレる), meaning "to get angry or lose one's temper".
Characteristics
Sadogire will often display signs of insanity or being mentally unstable.
Personality
Sadogire are characters who have a loveless or violently sadistic personality and enjoy playing with and torturing other people. These characters gain tremendous pleasure in violently harming or murdering others.
Sadogire are some of the most dangerous kinds of people in existence since they are not only extremely violent and bloodthirsty, but they enjoy torturing people so much that they prolong their suffering for as long as possible.
Sub-Types of Sadogire
There are two main types of sadogire, however, it is not uncommon for characters with the twisted love personality to also be arbitrary violence types as well.
Arbitrary Violence
For most sadogire, they do not care who they hurt. They will kill, torture or bully anyone who gets in their way or annoys them based on nothing more than personal whim and their own enjoyment. Some may even go out looking for people to hurt simply to fulful their extreme desires.
Twisted Love
Some sadogire have completely snapped and gained a twisted sense of what "love" is. While many sadogire have no love interest at all and simply enjoy harming random people, others may have lost all sense of normal thinking and become convinced that the way to show "love" is through extreme violence. To them, the way to show their "affection" is by violently harming their "love" interest. To them, killing their "love" interest or family is the most satisfaction they can get because it is more personal and therefore more impactful.
This extreme type of sadist behavior is sometimes confused for S "dere", however, S dere is just about the feeling of having control over and teasing the one they love and not violently harming them. With sadogire there is no true love.
Differences From Other Archetypes
Sadogire is a heartless and far more violent "gire" variation of S dere. While an S dere does enjoy toying with the feelings of their love interest by teasing them, they still deeply care about them and want them to be safe. They do it not out of a love for violence, but rather the pleasure from having control over the one they love. Whereas a sadogire does not care about the well-being of those they harm.
Unlike a bucchagire, who is extremely violent for the sake of being extremely violent, a sadogire will play with their victim. They will not be content simply killing them, they want to make them suffer so they can enjoy themselves for as long as possible.
