Make sure to read the character guidelines before adding any new characters. All characters listed who have been in love with, have a crush on, or are in a relationship with someone and are Kanedere for them will be marked with a heart (♥) next to their name. You can also see who this love interest is by dragging the cursor over the heart. Characters who are not romantic versions of this type, but are cute and affectionate towards friends/family must be marked with (platonic) or (familial) instead. |

"Kanedere" is a term for a character who at first will pretend to be in love with their love interest if they have money, status, or any other resource that will benefit them, but in the process falls genuinely in love and becomes deredere for them. They are golddiggers who act all cute and lovey-dovey with anyone they think will benefit them. However, eventually they will find someone who they have genuinely fallen in love with. They will realize that money is not the most important thing to them anymore and they will begin to appreciate their love interest for who they really are, for rich or for poor.
This is not to be confused with:
- Unofficial:Kanegire - A character who only cares about money and don't care how they get it or if their actions harm others. A kanegire is attracted to money, a kanedere is attracted to people with money, but eventually fall in love with who they are as a person (i.e, they would still be with them even if they were poor).
